Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again made headlines with a further reduction in the prices of diesel and aviation fuel, offering relief to consumers amidst economic challenges in Nigeria. The latest announcement sees diesel priced at N940 per litre and aviation fuel at N980 per litre, following closely on the heels of a celebrated price reduction to N1,000 just two weeks prior.

The revised pricing structure introduces a tiered system, with customers purchasing five million litres or more eligible for the N940 per litre rate, while those purchasing one million litres or more will benefit from the N970 per litre rate. This strategic pricing approach aims to cater to varying consumer needs while maintaining affordability.

Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Head of Communication at Dangote Petroleum Refinery, emphasized the company’s commitment to alleviating the economic hardships faced by Nigerians. He highlighted a strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas stations to ensure widespread access to affordable fuel across the nation, from Lagos to Maiduguri. Customers can now purchase diesel for as low as N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel for N980 per litre at MRS-operated stations nationwide, including major airports.

Chiejina further announced plans to extend the partnership to other major oil marketers, emphasizing the importance of preventing retail buyers from paying exorbitant prices. This collaborative effort underscores Dangote Group’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of Nigerians and addressing economic challenges.

This latest price reduction marks the third significant decrease in diesel prices within a span of three weeks. Previously, diesel was priced between N1,700 to N1,200 per litre before being reduced to N1,000, and now to N940. Similarly, aviation fuel prices have seen a reduction from previous levels, further contributing to the overall relief for consumers.
