Former Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian National Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has lamented over the circumstances that cut short his dream of putting Imo State in the world map as he had envisaged.

Ihedioha was speaking last Sunday, at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Mbutu in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State, during the one year Memorial Service of his late mother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha.

Recall that Ihedioha who served the state for only seven months as governor, before he was removed from office by Supreme Court.

Ihedioha maintained that it still pains him for not being able to carry out his lofty plans for Imo State.

The former Governor however gave thanks to God on behalf of the Ihedioha family, stating that he was ever grateful to God for what he has done for him as a person, and the entire Ihedioha family.

Ihedioha described his late mother as a virtuous woman who raised all her children in the love and fear of God, as well as to respect their fellow human beings, and be satisfied with whatever they have.

Ihedioha went on to reveal that his mother instilled discipline in all her children, which is evident today in the way they live their lives with humility.

Ihedioha further thanked all those who made out time to be with the family in the ceremony.

Later, the Tomb of Late Dame Nsonma Dorothy Ihedioha was unveiled.

Among dignitaries present were His Excellencies Limyel Imoke, and Abubakar Tambuwal.
