Dr. Jonah Ugo, a staunch supporter of the former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has reacted to a former publicist of the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Mr. Ambrose Nwaogwugwu following his threat to resign his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress should the former Governor, who recently resigned his membership of the PDP, decided to join APC.
There have been speculations over where Ihedioha’s political ship will berth, with some people suggesting the APC as his best option.
Already several political parties in the state, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA have made moves to bring the powerful political heavyweight into their fold.
Ihedioha however has remained tight-lipped about his next move.
Ugo, himself a leader of the APC in Amaike ward in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, countered Nwaogwugwu insisting that Ihedioha has already joined the APC and all that remains is his open declaration.
Ugo insisted that the declaration would be coming shortly.
Jonah, who was a former legislative aide to former Deputy Speaker of Imo State House Of Assembly, Rt Hon Okey Onyekaa made this known on Wednesday, on an online political platform.
It could be recalled that Dr. Ugo backed Ihedioha in 2019 Imo Governorship Poll, and has remains loyal to the former Governor who was sacked by the Supreme Court judgement of Jan, 2020 that brought Senator Hope Uzodimma into power.
Ugo advised that no person should stop Ambrose Nwaogwugwu from rendering his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) where Nwaogwugwu served as the deputy director of media, APC State campaign council in the 2023 Imo Governorship Poll, which was won by Hope Uzodimma,
as declared by the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ugo stated: “IS BETTER U NWAOGWUGWU TO START PREPARING FOR UR RESIGNATION LETTER:: THE FASTER U DO THE BETTER FOR U BECAUSE HIS EXELLENCY EMEKA IHEDIOHA IS ALREADY IN APC REMAINING HIS OPEN DECLARATION:: NO PERSON SHOULD STOP HIM NWAOGWUGWU TO RESIGN PLS HE IS 700 FREE TO RESIGN THE DOORS ARE MUCH OPEN FOR HIM”
