The truth is that whatever Emeka Ihedioha faced in PDP before his resignation, Sam Daddy Anyanwu had already faced the same measure in the past when Ihedioha held sway in PDP. The truth again is that, revenge is sweet when it is served cold. Ihedioha used Uche Secondus and the former Governor of Sokoto state Aminu Tambuwal to crush Sam Daddy and his ambition in 2018. And today, Sam Daddy hiding under Wike, has succeeded in pushing the same Ihedioha out of PDP and even rendered him party-less. Therefore, no Victor no vanquished. The only edge Sam Daddy has over Ihedioha, was his ability to force Ihedioha and his men out of PDP which Ihedioha couldn’t do when he was incharge. Today, Sam Daddy is the Imo PDP Supremo and sole Administrator. But in all of this, APC is the ultimate beneficiary of the political turmoil that is currently eclipsing the PDP.

Now that the Rebuild Imo group is looking for the best entry behaviour to empty into Labour Party, remnants of the Obidient Movement in Imo LP sympathetic to their 2023 governorship candidate, may be up in arms against the entry of Ihedioha and his Imo Rebuild group into LP. The Obidients in LP may not have forgiven Ihedioha over his divisive and derogative comments against Peter Obi in Ghana. They may be keeping vigil at all LP entry points to stop Ihedioha and his men from entering LP.

Sen. Athan Achonu, an incredibly well known socialite with a vociferous and boisterous political attitude, knows the implications of Ihedioha gaining access into LP. The only window of opportunity for both Ihedioha and Achonu to co-exist in LP together is, if one of them will shelve his governorship ambition for the other. But truly speaking, I don’t see any of them shifting ground for each other. But the truth is that Achonu cannot stop Ihedioha and his men from joining LP. In this situation, the two blocs will have to fight for the soul of Imo LP. If this happens, Sen. Athan may be stripped off his first refusal status in LP. And this will anger his followers, who may decide to look at Sam Daddy’s way and shift loyalty to PDP or join APC as the last option.
