…Association of Imo State Oriented Journalists Condemns Defamatory Statements Against Hon. Paschal Nwakanma

The Association of Imo State Oriented Journalists, has expressed strong disapproval regarding the malicious allegations and defamatory statements directed at Hon. Paschal Nwakanma, the Special Adviser on Land Recovery to Governor Hope Uzodinma. These accusations have been attributed to a factional group loyal to the Honourable Commissioner of Information, Hon. Declan Emelumba.

This factional group, headed by Comrade Chuks Nwokeji, was inaugurated last year by Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma at the State Secretariat of the Union. During this event, the group was introduced to Hon. Declan Emelumba.

It is imperative to clarify that this faction appears to have been established with the primary aim of conducting biased activities against the interests of Imo State, particularly in protecting corrupt politicians who are currently under legal scrutiny and we are also aware of the money you collected to write this. The recent unfounded and ambiguous allegations against Hon. Paschal Nwakanma, who has notably excelled in his role on land recovery, have prompted us to investigate the true motives behind the group’s formation.

One cannot deny that His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma’s commitment to land recovery operates with zero tolerance, grounded in justice and fairness, without any undue favoritism. We are aware that certain individuals involved in land racketeering, fearing culpability and arrest, are now resorting to using media groups to launch attacks on Hon. Paschal Nwakanma.

We, therefore, unequivocally pass a vote of confidence in Hon. Paschal Nwakanma and Governor Hope Uzodinma for their resilience and dedication to reclaiming stolen lands from unscrupulous elements. Their unwavering commitment to justice and the recovery of illegally acquired lands serves as a testament to the administration’s integrity and dedication to upholding the rule of law in Imo State.
