Nwaneri’s arrest, which was reportedly carried out on the orders of Governor Uzodimma, was on grounds of his alleged involvement in misconduct and other sharp practices in the state.

He was arrested on Saturday, May 18th, 2024.

Nwaneri, after spending about fifteen days in detention, regained his freedom on the evening of Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.

He was reportedly spotted in one the hotels in Owerri.
