At The Last Count A Month Ago, Two Local Governments In Imo Announced Another Mass Resignation Of The Party’s Remaining Faithful. This Was Even As The Former Governor Of The State, Rt. Honourable Emeka Ihedioha, Earlier Pulled Out With A Whole Chunk Of The Party’s Structure.
Recall Also That Seven
Members Of The Last Known EXCO Of The Party Now Known As The G-7, First Pulled Out Last Year With The Soul Of The Party, And Opening The Floodgate Of Massive Defections That Eventually Led To The PDP’s Extinction As Main Opposition Party In Imo.
So, Who Are These Characters At The PDP’s State’s Secretariat Attempting To Fleece The Unsuspecting Public Of Their Hard Earned Monies In The Name Of Purchasing Forms For Local Government Election They Knew Ab initio They Were Not Prepared For?
As If The Party Enjoys Losing Elections And Had Quickly Forgotten Their Embarrassing Outings In Previous Ones, The Imo PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Sir Chidi Dike In His Statement Released On Friday Said “We Want to urge all members of our great party to rise to the occasion and position themselves to repeat the same feat performed during the last governorship election in November last year…“
Imagine People Deliberately Positioning Selves For The Same Failure They Achieved Last Year! Who Does That?
While This Is Not Meant To Dissuade Them From Choosing To Dig Their Graves By Themselves Come September 21st, Suffice To Say That The Poets Are Already Standing By, Not For Their Odes, But For Their Laments After The Elections.
The Imo PDP As Presently Constituted Has No Slightest Capacity To Deliver Any Aspirant In Any Elections Today In Imo State. It Would Have Been Tolerable If The Announcement By The PDP Was Made By Another Opposition Party.
However, Kudos Must Go To Them For Openly, For The First Time Since The Gov. Hope Uzodinma’s Second Term Administration, Agreeing With Some Of Us Who Earlier Left To Join Gov. Uzodinma, That The Governor Is Working Our Talks And Can Be Trusted.
The Expressed Readiness By The PDP For The Gov. Uzodinma’s Planned Local Government Elections Shows That The PDP Now Has Absolute Confidence In The Governor’s Programs And Intentions For A Better Imo State.
It Is A Mark And Vote Of Confidence On The Electoral Umpire Recently Inaugurated By Gov. Uzodinma.
While It’s Certain That The PDP Will Now Enjoy Part Of Our Media Referencing Which Is Actually Their Intent, Our Party, The Imo APC, Must However, Go For The Big Stick With Which To Finally Smash The Head Of This Snake, And Put It To A Final Death.
Going From This, We Are Calling On Other Opposition Parties To Equally Come On Board And Be Part Of The Renewed Imo Agenda Of Governor Hope Uzodinma In Conducting A Free And Fair Local Government Government’s Elections Come 21st Of September, 2024.
Surely, Imo Belongs To All Of Us. Together We Have Resolved To Be Part Of A Great History Of Real Councils’ Election In Imo State In Recent Years.
