The Chairman of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), Charles Ejiogu, has announced that the Commission has successfully trained 15,000 ad-hoc staff ahead of the September 21 local government elections.
Ejiogu emphasized the Commission’s commitment to conducting a free and fair election, ensuring a level playing field for all political parties. The election is set to take place in all 305 wards and 4,758 polling units across the state.
Speaking at the Commission’s office, Ejiogu assured the electorate, stakeholders, and candidates that ISIEC is dedicated to delivering a credible election, fair to all contestants.
He also confirmed that the voter register from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be used, and it will be displayed at each polling unit on election day. For security reasons, the voter register will not be pasted until the day of the election.
Ejiogu further noted that all major political parties in the state have nominated candidates for the various elective positions.
