The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an alleged internet fraudster who reportedly confined a young woman for money rituals in Abuja. The arrest was made by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

In a statement released on Thursday night, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the police are currently awaiting the NSCDC to transfer the suspect to their custody for further investigation.

A video circulating on social media on Thursday shows a young woman tied up in a hotel room, with claims that her boyfriend had confined her at Top View Hotel in Wuse, Abuja, for ritual purposes.

SP Adeh said, “Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.”

She further added, “The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for the commencement of diligent and discreet investigation. Further developments will be communicated in due course.”
